    Ok so the rant.

Or maybe more of just a ramble.

I used valspar to paint the car.
It said it didn't need any hardener added but two weeks after I painted the car the web site is changed and says you can add some.

It took over a month to cure enough that I couldn't eave a finger print in it super easy.

Thus all sorts of dust, leaves and whatever stuck to it and pried off.

This also means when I put a bunjee cord on the hood because I was sure if I trusted my new hood latch - finally
Found a stock plunger and had a friend with a lath reproduce it, then went threw a few springs to find one that worked as the stock one was worn out- it left heavy duty imprinted in the hood.

And when we changed the water pump it got belly, shirt and belt marks on the fender tops.

So with it finally hard I figured I'd buff and polish it to get the shine up. Figuring maybe the gloss irregularity was from some overspray texture or something.

Well after burning threw the paint on the deck lid I switched to doing it by hand . The buffer is a harbor freight job and wth a foam pad was nearly impossibly to control.

Anyhow it became apparent that the paint wasn't mixed right or well- the guy who mixed it for me admitted that the guy who normally does it was at lunch but he thought he could figure it out.

    I guess not.

Anyhow that's why I have irregular shine not because if texture.

I tried a couple spots to just wax it and see if it would gloss up but it acted weird. Think it's to soon to wax it anyways. So I washed all the wax back off the best I could manage.

Upside the fender tops buffed out enough to get the marks either out or subdued enough for me.

It Basicly just looks like decent old paint now after all the wear it took while it took 4-6 weeks to cure instead of wear new paint.

At this point my ****s to give have run out and figured it looks much better than before and now the old worn out trim won't look to out of place.

Maybe at the end of the summer I'll try a wool pad and buffing it again but right now I'm over it and want to move in to the next thing.

That next thing would be this list.

Replace toe board: I hate this piece of **** re pop one. I'm going to make a wood one.

    Lizard skin insulate everything

Finish sewing up new interior and put
In headliner from that fancy place not macs

Replace cracked and leaking intake manifold with new one, replace heads with leaking valve stems with some
Rebuilt power pack heads, replace wonky alt bracket that won't work with new heads with a "jitney" unit. I've got it all and the gaskets on the shelf I just need new head bolts and fluids and it's read to swap. Should bump compression from 8:1 to 9.2:1 give or take

I also would like to change my gas pedal and maybe hook up my lockdown linkage.

Oh, and fix my trans dipstick leak....adjust steering box...

And I'm sure a million other things but that's the bulk of right now projects.

We are trying to have all this done by KKOA but we are also trying to buy a house so we'll see what gets done.

    Future projects:

New front sway bar and bushings
    New front dropped axel
All the stuff that goes with that
    Rear sway bar
    Power brakes
Maybe steering box with a different ratio

I drive the car like I drive any other car, I don't beat on it but I do like the turns and the road in general so it needs to handle a little better. I think it's there it just needs developed. The brakes, well people are idiots.

If I still lived in a town of 5,000 these would be fine. But I think with a power unit I should be able to get those 12 inch rotors to stop in time to not hit the dude short braking in front of me.

Oh, and tuning or replacing the stock front shocks with tubes.

And that. Basicly. Gets us up to speed!

Damn Tim! That's awesome if this wasn't a big update I don't want to see what you have instore next. That's a solid car rust wise. You did great work in that damage! As I said before you should be pumped on doing your first paint job in BLACK...

Yeah it's a bit much Nate haha.

It's got new to me 46 front and back bumpers, bumper brackets and front and rear gravel pans. As well as the two lower grill bars and I have a new to me piece of driver side back fender trim to put on.

I think I'm going to hunt for some rear fenders that are straight and rust free for a later rebuild as I'm never getting rid of this one.

    Thanks for the comments guys,
I've turned it into a 6 footer from a 60 footer lol. Still a long ways to go but I'm making some headway.

I saw it all Andes down for so long I forgot what it looked like one color haha.

Figured I'd post an update and see if it gained me any motivation to keep going :)

And Dan if love to come beat on yours but it's a bit of a drive haha. Think I'm going to do the spare front clip when I find a time or lul to do it. That way should I need it it's ready to rock.

Be a good wall hanger until then

The new hood plunger. I made a new cable and put it in a plastic sleeve and ran it the stock route threw the stock clips.

Lots of wd40 and it works like a charm

Looks like they changed the app now as well, guess I can't skirt around the new hamb any longer lol.

Let's see if I can figure out how to make a post on the new app

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1401383663.141551.jpg

Couldn't deal with the ****ty paint and the store I bought the paint from gave me the run around
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1401383717.323030.jpg

Scuffing it all down and re painting with not valspar garbage paint.

It's been a looooong time and this scruff pad is still able to stick to the door enough that it made noise coming off.

Ugh. Not how I wanted to be spending early summer but at least it's something I can work on and feel like I have some control over it.

So Sarah and I have entered the running for the Travis aka Royboy productions "young blood award"
It is split into two halves, the viewers choice is online and taking place right now! and Travis will make his pick at the KKOA show in salina in person!

The winner of each segment gets $500! Im not typically the kind of guy to ask people to vote for or on things but go give it a look and vote for whatever car you think is the winner :)

Thank you! We had wanted to have the top end changed and the interior finished and in for KKOA but painting it twice and all the things that come with life has slowed us down a bit! Haha

Just trying to do my best with what I got till I can do better :)

    So my hometown is flooding.

Like worse than in recorded history... I won't go into it much but here but this is the shop I started this build in

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1403217795.745090.jpg

    The middle white building

Water is so deep and so fast it's pushing the bridges down river with it. Most of the towns are only reachable via boat right now.

    Ever seen that before Matt?

    :S

By the grace of god the house didn't take water on the first flor because it's up on a few courses of block. I don't know how it's even possible.

He's going to send photos in a few days if the water doesn't go back up.

This is my friends house, at the time I didn't even have a driveway to work in. So we are safe and dry but he's facing a long road of clean up ahead.
