My wifes 58 had a scarerebird front disc conversion on it when we bought it but the previous owner abandoned the project when he hit the snag of replacing the stock mc setup. Ill try my best to describe what I did. First I pulled a booster, mc, prop valve setup from an 85 Olds Cutl***. Next I yanked the stock booster/mc brackets and blister off the Caddy firewall, the one that also serves as "ductwork" for the heater setup. Behind it is an oval plate with several Phillips head screw holding it to the firewall that are prolly rotted half off since this area is prone to trap water from the cowl vent and usually the blisters rot out at the bottoms, hopefully yours aren't. Take the oval cover off. Under the dash is a plastic housing/duct for the drivers side floor heat, remove it and you now have a straight shot into the car behind the brake pedal. I mocked up my booster so that it mounted to the blister in the firewall and my rod p***ed through the oval cover that bolts to the firewall, just a matter of lining things up and drilling holes. I pulled the pedal ***y out and drilled one of the arms to accept a clevis and pin to hold the booster rod. I did fab a reinforcement plate for the inside of the firewall blister to eliminate flexing and you will need a couple of "boots" where the rod p***es through the firewall to keep water out. Works like it should and looks like it came that way from day one. The only thing I didn't do was put the floor heat duct back in so you may need to get creative with it if you decide to go that route. I would save up for the disc conversion and tackle it all at once if I were you though. You will need to swap out your stock front wheels with the disc setup though, I got away with grinding a lil meat off the calipers and running spacers on em for awhile. From what I understand Chevy truck steel wheels will clear the calipers also. Pulling the rear portion of the inner fender on the drivers side makes life easy when it comes to mounting the prop valve and plumbing the lines also and while you have it out its easy access to the blower motor, heater hose clamps, and the heater core....you kow, things worth checking out before you have any issues with them lol. Hope this helps!

thanks for the great reply. and a great story.
im going to discs in the future as you can see in my other thread im gonna rebuild the engine and gearbox that isnt cheap and wel when in europe its getting even more expensive like when it has a cadillac brand on it you pay 3 times as much. well if you want that in europe you pay 5 times as much ;) the picture i have thats a plug and play set up wich i want to replicate because i dont have 700 dollars for that so the bracket is easy to make myself im a welder and the booster if its a standard one from some car i wil pay like 100 or 150.
and the rest wil work Original set up. pedal and firewall bracket. those Original brakebooster is a ****py design from Cadillac only one year a standing booster. it it wil Always start leaking so i want something modern and in the future ad disc brakes.

Disc and drum front brakes use different master cylinders.....so I doubt you can get one that will work with both. Might as well go ahead and do the disc brakes at the same time.
CPP makes the small diameter boosters. I think the smallest is a 7" dual diaphram booster.

Took a master/booster from an 83 Caddy do the take apart stuff HUBNUT said just mount it. I used the stock 58 pedal and brake switch, with the proportioning valve from the 83. Works great with the drums, but the 83 had discs so?
