So are the '52-'54 Lincoln Cosmopolitan 2 door rare? I can't seem to find any pics on Google, the net, or the H.A.M.B. of them. They were slightly different than the Capri right?

    1. Is there a parts supplier that specializes in these Lincolns?
    2. Anyone got any pics saved of a 2 door '52-'54 Cosmo done up?

    Thanks.

I think if someone could pull this off it would be pretty slick. Curious to see if it's been done before.

Finding a cosmo 2dr in those years would really be a find, as they are getting rare. The capris of these years are more common, and have a little more chrome and other subtle accessories.

At a wild guess I would say Cadillac sold 1/10 as many cars as Chevrolet, Lincoln sold 1/10 as many as Cadillac, and 1/10 of those were 2 door hardtops. Of those, maybe 1/100 survive. The math is not in your favor.

Year for year the '52-'53 cosmopolitan & Capri are identical except for 'name tags' ( except for '52 having a 3-piece rear window,It all interchanges, even the side scoops) the '54 has a different side scoop & reshaped bumpers. '52 has 2bbl Holly, '53-'54 have 4bbl Holly (all are the legendary "teapot") All the mechanicals basically interchange('52-'53 have 11" brakes / '54 has 12" brakes: '54-'57 brakes interchange : '54-'57 wheels fit '52-'57, '52-'53 wheels only fit '52-'53) '52-'54 all had dual-range Hydramatics:all interchange '52 had only manual steering & brakes / '53-'54 offered power steering & brakes as additional options(standard still available) '52-'57 front suspensions interchange. '52-'54 motors are all 317", '55 is 341", '56-'57 is 368" PARTS: 1. Hemmings 2. Road Race Lincoln Register 3. Lincoln and Continental Club 4.Learn to be a Detective!!! This is a start, the rest is up yo you!

Found a few after a lot of searching ... I think these are Capris ... but as drtrcrv-8 said they are the same body. Look hot, shame you don't see more of them done up.

According to the Classic Car Database website:

    1952 Cosmopolitan 2-drs: 4,545 produced
    1953 Cosmopolitan 2-drs: 6,562 produced
    1954 Cosmopolitan 2-drs: 2,994 produced

Total 3 year production of 14,101.

A pretty rare car indeed, but there should definitely be a few around. They do make some awesome looking customs though. Good Luck.

Quakerchevelle: Taillights are same '52-'54 & are usually PRICEY(!!) due to being popular during the '50s-'70s for customizing "James Dean" Mercurys/ front pkg lights may also be '52-'54 / side scoops are '52-'53(yours, with a bunch of work, could be straightened out)/ those back-up lights must be optional, as I've not seen them before( although the bezel shape does suggest "factory or factory-optional")/ And as for the other trim: I REPEAT LOUDLY: RoadRaceLincolnRegister or Lincoln Continental Owners Club or Hemmings, or local AACA chapter members & check their newsletter's ads &/or put an ad under "wanted" Warning: These cars are Beautiful, but NOT CHEAP!!

also : check with FORDPATINA(earlier post) the parts you say you're looking for (with possible exception of back-up lights, unless his was so equipped ) should have 'commonality' with his 4dr parts car.
