I think that's a great idea! Did you know your steering wheel is on the wrong side?

Looks wise, needs a haircut. Maybe take out the middle band area?

I like it, but agree it needs the roof lowered, if for no other reason than wind resistance. (You might do a tech article on how to chop a chest.:p) You are right, as much as I love my 27 and my 23 before that, there is zero room to carry more than a toothbrush in them.

Great idea, and a nice job on the rack.

  6. overall, its functional and neat. proportionally its a bit ***bersome, but what are you gonna do?
either way the rack is neat and super useful on a day to day basis.

Here's an idea... what if you had a box that in addition to sitting on top of the rack, had additional square footage that dropped down behind the fuel tank to about the height of the rear cross member. the top could be a single piece made up of two sections that could be removed separately for access or maybe even hinged in the middle for a ****erfly style reveal. still might be a bit ***bersome but wont be sticking up in the wind and creating a blind spot.

When I use my "T" Coupe,
if it don't fit on the p***enger seat its not going !. :D;)

  10. I like it a lot and even if you made it lower for cleaner lines you will still have 100% more space than before. As for my T the full length tray will do the trick. JW

I was looking at a old domed top car trunk at a swap last fall and thought the fold up rack that could be unbolted would work on my T.

I like the simplicity of the rack. And you could just strap the essentials for a day trip to the top of that.

Nice job on the trunk, too!

Great idea.......maybe have a look at a vintage car trunk as they are lower and have more of a curved top.

    Nice touch!
Integrate another third brake into it now that the original is blocked.

My thought is that there might be a problem with the trunk being higher than your roll bar. Other than that and the trunk being a tad too tall, I think it's a great idea.

When this picture was taken I had the p***enger floorboard filled with Cad. engine racing parts "Horne manifold etc. that I had just bought from an old Bonn. racer. Lawn chairs strapped to the back. Always looking fore space in a bucket. Great idea.

I like it,it reminds me of the small but similar rack that was on the rear fender of my '48 Harley-Davidson Hummer. HRP

The tank mounted rack looks awesome, but I agree I would find something a little shorter for the back, maybe build something to match the car

When I did my bed, I planned out as much space as possible for road trips

Its hard to see in the pic but there is a drop down behind the tailgate. Even with a bed it forces me to take just what I need.

I like the thinking and thats a nice lugage bracket on your tank.
This was my way,it's a fold up rear rack that was used on Model A Fords[now can get them as repo],I designed an made some brackets that hold it in place with two big wingnuts you can see eachside of my tailights so I can run it when I need it,but can remove also. I holds my wifes wheelchair and a cooler. On another note,I designed my seat so there is storage behind it,its big enough to hold some tools, fireX,jumpercables, cleaning stuff and fix-a-flat,not the first time I've done it this way, also did same to my son's 23T. 1Arear.jpg

That's a good looking rack, kiwi. I had an idea to use an A rack like the one Dana has above, altered a bit & mounted to a fibergl*** tonneau.

    mine from the weekend:

good enough, but no way it could hold the weight of a full cooler though...

Love the rack, the box is well done and looks ok but I'd try and find a vintage beer or Coke cooler.

I've always considered buckets a bit like a motor bike with the need to wear a helmet, my A RPU was much the same, jus a little more storage! Love the idea's and the pic of the bucket's!

Pretty nifty, but as said, a little tall. Maybe half the height and add some cool old saddle bags. Plenty of room there.

    Good Idea

  29. ^^^^ I agree with the lack of cargo space, even with w turtle deck there is literally no place to put stuff. The trunk is a great idea or even just the luggage rack perhaps without the trunk.

There is one other glaring problem with a T, no leg room. I am pretty short legged and I still have a problem with leg room. ;)

Funny when I was opening this I thought it would be about pulling a little trailer. The luggage rack and the trunk is a pretty slick idea.
