The roster is sent every year to National Woodie Club members. I would join the NWC if you aren't a member. I can't get over the difference between the two years pictured. The rail below the windows is entirely different! What also strikes me is the beautiful shape of the hinged front door post, what a nice piece! What is really going to drive you crazy are the small brackets, window pulls and hinges. Ford guy's go nuts trying to find these parts but your's are so much rarer! Keep us posted.

Woodiewagon , I'll likely find new period correct type latches for reliability and attach real 41 Willys handles to them . I will use a coupe trunk lid handles for the back hatch .
Ya the 41 belt line is there were with the 40 its just not there at all . Also I have seen under the vinyl of a 40 woodie cowl and a 41 woodie cowl and it appears the wood attached differently to both ? I think its different at the drip rail ? Will know more when my 40 parts arrive I guess .
Also I have a piece from the top of the rear side window area and its a gradual slope where as with the 40 its kinda sharp . Loads of differences ! And that's just the beginning because the 41 - 41 is a completely different car from the 38 - 40 . I say from 38 because 37 is a bit different still because of the scissor hinge set up in the cowl . But other than the one prototype woodie in 37 there were none to the best of my knowledge till 40 . I believe in 41 Willys had wanted Mifflinburg to get involved and I think we all believed they had but when I called their museum about it they said they don't think it was possible since they went bankrupt in 1940 ?

willyscoupe, there is a guy that advertises in The Woodie Times that makes extruded aluminum rain gutters that I think would work well for your car. Let me check out a back issue and I'll PM you.

Well before I get too deep into my dreams for the car , its on eBay this week . Its got a fairly low reserve to make the wife happy and sell as long as the right people are shopping this week but to also help me focus on other Willys projects already in the shop .
I am still very interested in finding out if there are any 41 Willys Woodies to look at for a little research though . And I will hang onto my 40 Willys bits and pieces for a future project since I'm more of a 40 Guy anyway .

easy to mod a standard rear fender which I have plenty of but if your fender is priced right I would consider it .

Time for me to chime in again - my only up close and personal experience is with my 1940 Woodie project - now in far more capable hands. The rear fenders on the 1940 woodies are unique to that model only. I would be surprised if the 1941s used regular fenders - they appear to be similar to the 1940s. The 1941 woodie is the coupe type shape - not the peaked type used in the 1941 sedans. There are four pages in the factory 1941 Willys 441 parts list devoted to woodie specific part numbers. The tan woodie which belonged to the late Al Maynard was 'discovered' in a barn in Colton CA near San Bernardino by Willys collector Gary Mills. Gary told me many years ago that this body for sure has a Mifflinburg tag. The red 1940 Willys owned by Jack Fields was also owned at one time by Gary Mills who sold it to Jack's late father Ron. If memory serves, this red 1940 woodie has a Cantrell body tag. Cantrell also built the prototype 1937 'Suburban' Willys woodie - a 2 door - below.

Apart from the late Al Maynard's woodies which I understand are still in his family, there is one in original family ownership from new in the US and I too have heard of one rumored to be in Mexico so adding willyscoupe's to that would make five survivors of the reputed five built.

The 1940 Willys woodie is the only 1940 with the gas filler exiting through the fender - all other 1940 Willys had the filler exiting through the body. The 1941 woodie fender looks similar to the 1940 woodie but a word of caution - although 1940 and 1941 coupe fenders appear to be the same, the wheel opening is in fact almost one inch further back in the 1941s to accommodate the increased 104" wheelbase (from 102" in 1940). This also appears to be the case with the woodies and can be seen if you look at the distance between the running board and the wheel opening in the rear three quarter shot from post #17 and a similar angle shot of Jack's red woodie parked next to my '40 coupe below. There appears to be more metal between the running board and the wheel opening on the tan woodie.

And talking of Willys woodies - how about this one courtesy of Mac's Motor City Garage:)

The fender I have came from the Al Maynard estate. I stuck it on ebay with a kinda high asking price, but I`m open to offers.

Well I have a couple of 40 rears I was going to modify but I need some good detail pics of a survivor Woodie . I'm not sure 100% if the 41 also has the wood floor in the rear or not and I'm not too sure about the rear inner design either . I would also like to find some interior pics of the 41 and the header over the windshield .
Talking to the guy who used to own Al's car would sure be nice !
If I can't gather enough info on the original construction then I may move fwd next yr with more of a Hot Rod build . I am getting the Coupe on the road first :) hoping to drv to the Bakersfield HRR this fall !
