I am heading over to the national truck show tomorrow morning, won't get to stay any longer than tomorrow but I hope to get good pics of some coe's and also hoping someone has a depot hack there since I am trying to build one for Dad. If anyone is in the area it is today through Sunday at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield MO $10 to get in. I got to go the the show in Hutchinson KS in 08 and it was my favorite show so far. Guys are predicting 6-800 trucks. The fairgrounds are very nice for shows with a good portion gr*** and trees and it is all rolling hills. I think parking is free this time as well.
I'm wishing I was there, also was in Hutchinson. Got caught in a tornado on Fri night at the motel, felt like a rat in a rain barrel. LOL I spend some time on the ATHS and Just old trucks forums, so I've got lots of internet friends at the show this weekend.
Just got back a little while ago. I got quite a few pics, but I wasn't feeling too well so I kinda wimped out and got lazy. I will work on getting pics posted up here. There were quite a few trucks there that I had taken pics of in 2008, so I skipped them. It was a nice show, they had most up on top of the hill on the blacktop I think because it had rained some and could have been muddy real quick. Made it a bit hot and I got burnt a little. Seems like most of what I got were coe's. There were a couple there that I had never heard of before, I always like seeing new makes. There was a 1930 Leudinghaus, only 13 made and were from St Louis. There was a 1920 LeMoon. Those were the only 2 makes I had not heard of before.
The REO is a 1938 I think and I had not ever seen on in person before, very cool. I was a bit surprised how far the grille stuck out.
I have some more, but they are not coe's. It is interesting when you are at a show taking pics you think you took alot and get home and realize it wasn't enough. I also found out I missed going in the building where the realy old ones were, aggravating. Didn't know they were in there.
I had a missprint on the Id paper, its actuality a 1947 Dodge. I drove down for the show just about 130miles running as fast as 40mph. Has a Buddy driving my '51chevy and another guy from home caught up in his IH9670, made for a neat cell phone picture.
Tommy, that is a sweet truck, I just hope I can make my Dodge as nice. I wish I could have spent more time there to talk to people but it wasn't to be this time, Thanks for posting - did you get any good pics at the show? Jason
I didn't take any, anymore I just google search and look at everyone elses pictures. That's how I ran across your post. Tommy
