I must have posted question incorrectly earlier,
Is there a bolt in fix to raise the the ratio in my forty one coupe? recently replaced the locked up 216 with a 235... runs great.... note: some care and a drill saves changing the front engine cover to facilitate front engine mount pads.

I'm not comfortable with the engine running about 4500 rpm to do 60mph, looking for a bolt in fix if there is one, read some where a 50- 55 " ring and pinion from a power glide chevy will bolt in to the differential , any feedback on this? Thanks.

    Steve.

If you can find one I thing the best bet is a complete rear from a '51-'54 PowerGlide, torque tube and all
I think (not sure) the torque tubes are the same length. Labor-wise it would take almost the same effort to change just the center section (and torque tube) plus you get the later style Bendix brakes.
