It looks like it bolts to a regular 4 barrel intake, uses a generator to create more airflow, and has the word "Dragster" cast into the blower part. Who made it? When? Thanks in advance!

Looks like somebody spent a lot of time on that, but i can't tell just what it 's supposed to do given what's there...does all the air go through that radial blede fan?

At first glance it appears to be an electric supercharger. Novel idea.

In fact do a search for 'dragster electric supercharger' and you'll be in the house.

    Google is your friend.

How many RPM's can that thing develop? Most centrifugal superchargers are real screamers, not to mention the airflow thru that sideways hole. Pretty interesting find though, and a real investment to cast it up. An accomplishment for sure even if it doesn't work.

It appears to be from the late 50's or early 60's. No idea on RPMs. It must've been a limited run and obviously didn't catch on.

What I know/remember..A starter motor, of that area would rpm 2500 give or take cranking an engine, going by 120rpm as cranking rpm...About 2hp and rpm is only limited by load or amount of current which if enough the motor will just rpm till it blows up..I actually saw a set up at a swap meet around 70'..Motor was vertical [no angle drive] and I believe a couple of 2v carbs, smaller overall not as ambitious as pictured one......Pretty sure there was a magazine there with it containing an article on the unit...And they are still being made for OT just as tinker-toy junk...

The fan reminds me of the cooling fan on my old air vair.

  9. Thats not a supercharger, but appears to be a way to atomize the fuel air mixture.

back in high school shop cl***, one of my fellow students had rigged a heater blower fan to his carb using a large coffee can and some duct work. he would hit the switch and the motor would increase in rpm's.....but that was it.
i always wondered if it was done right if an electric supercharger would work.

When I was in college we hooked a leaf blower on to an intake... gave the car like 80hp...

That thing is neat, put it on and see what happens...

Turbonic or something like that. They made rocket powered blowers pretty much the same as the electric one you have. Also the rocket powered third member. Do a search.

Oberhausen...or something like that. It was advertised in hot rod magazines around 55 or 56

I think they we're sold in kit form.....we had one and mounted it on a y block. Never tried running it. Doubt it would do anything. There should be a flap inside to block the p***age when the blower is in use.

There have been a few posts on them

I'm doing research on this type supercharger. What I was told is that it was made by Dragmaster Co. on Peachtree in Atlanta, GA. But I have not found anything on this blower. Another fellow said he had one and had a Ford Starter motor. He also said he had a copy of an ad for this , but has not got back to me.
