I have a 1938 ford tudor deluxe that the hinges sold by everyone it seems are to fit 1938 -1940 fords but don't come close to fitting my cowl. the hole pattern is approx. 3/4 of inch smaller than the cowl and is shaped differently. However the rubber gasket that they sell for 37-40 fords does match up.
Any one have an idea what gives here?
    Thanks,
    Rich

I guess that would mean I need a 37 hinge.

I have a 38 with 37 fenders and hood. When I first tried to ***emble, I used the 38hinges. They fit the cowl but wouldn't work with the hood. Long story short, both 37 and the different 38 have the same bolt pattern
