I pulled the tank on my '53 Customline and luckily the inside is nice and clean. The problem is there's about an inch of the old spray on undercoating on it. Anyone have any tips on getting that stuff off? Was thinking about a wire wheel on my grinder but wasn't sure if the metal was thick enough to do that. And before you ask it is empty.

Use rags soaked with lacquer thinner of minerals spirits(slower)
Dissolves it and then wipe it off
Take some time and elbow grease
    Just finished my trunk floor
Works well, just keep it real wet with thinner

Gasoline also works well and it is still cheaper than lacquer thinner which runs about
    $20.00 a gallon. Alan S. Freeman
