I decided to post a few pics of the '30 Cabriolet I am currently working on. I bought the body from a guy who started to restore it and then put it in a shed. The wood body sills were soft at the rear, so I have framed the quarters up with one inch square tube. With what I have done so far the body is really rigid. For now I am using the wood from the doors forward. I may use steel on them eventually. The stock door latches had been burned in a fire so I decided to use bear claw latches instead- not really traditional -but I have this thing about not falling out of my vehicles. In the next couple of months I plan to convert it to juice brakes(already have most of the parts to do it) and finish the body work. I actually plan on painting this one. The stock banger motor stays because it runs really well. My pictures are not the best in the world but I hope you enjoy. Reece
Looks good, nice work on that bracing.... happy to see someone else working on cool stuff in Raleigh. Rick
Lookin' good, Reece! I had one of my truck tires plugged the other day... somehow that doesn't seem quite as satisfying as the progress you're making. Keep cranking so you can drive it to BS&G. Beers soon? -murph
You're making me feel slack about my progress as of late. Hey but then again I have built a whole bar. I'm planning on getting back in the swing of the hot rod thing next week since I'm pretty much finished with the bar....
