We don't need a ******* match going on here but there are a lot of obvious clues man..

Since we old farts are supposed to know every car that ever rolled, it's kind of required.

I think this picture shows the rear fender area, can anyone tell what it is?

 

Looks like a Crosley to me. Same type hood and windshield. Whatever it is they don't want to be seen in it. Harley

 

Knobby tires, If it is during wartime, tires were very, very hard to come by. You used what you could find.

 

Not a Crosley. The earliest (1939) ones looked quite different, the later ones completely different.

 

WWII was over for 2 years, give or take 6 months, when this pic was taken. Tires were available again. Also, it is not a Crosley. For one thing, the wheels are way too small.

 

That old semi is missing it's door, it must have been a really hot day out lol

 

I'm leaning towards a ho-made job... Maybe young men that returned home from the war with new skills built it?

 

Maybe not home made though.

It looks like Brit car to me, but I'm not much on Brit car history.

 

Do I see grafitti on the walls of the Airplane in that photo...dirtbag first-cl*** p***engers!

 

It looks to be based upon a 1940's Fiat 1100. The hood and hoodsides match.

 

Regardless, loved the photos.

 

Here is my guess.. it looks like Dean Martin in the drivers' seat and maybe Jerry Lewis in p***enger seat and they are stopped at a hot dog vendor on a movie set so the vehicle is a built set vehicle out of a late 30's Ford p***enger car with Marmon-Harrington FWD.....He is busting the vendor's balls wanting a Martini with the dog...just a guess..lol..

 

....and yes, the sides do look like the Fiat.

Not at all.

Go look at the Fiats that were cloned from NSU (Or vice versa.)

Also what I took as external hood hinges are actually not. I think it's just the cowl vent, being nearly closed, that makes it look so.

 

Good call on the Fiat.. Kinda looks Jeepish too. I'm going with a handmade Fiatster!

 

Did Fiat ever make military cars?

Its not a 'tow motor' is it, used to move parts of sets around? Could be made from anything!
