Hey guys, I'm sure you've noticed... The H.A.M.B. has been running like **** the last couple of days. This is primarily due to two things:

    1. User Albums. I guess because it's easier to use... but the number of photos uploaded to user albums per day has more than doubled. This wasn't planned on... and the extra load is kicking my ***.

    2. Social Forums. Again, I guess because of the new features in social forums people are using them more... but this is causing even more load than the albums mentioned above.

    So, what now?

We are working on improving the code and making it more efficient for both the social forums and the albums. We are also going to throw even more hardware at it. But, for the next week or so you might notice that both the user albums and the social forums might be up and down a bit. When load gets high, I plan to turn them off so I don't have to shut down the entire forum.

    Thanks for being patient.

No difference. And don't shy away from using your albums. It's a problem, but one I am going to fix.

I just thought you accidentally filled up with 87 octane. You need 93 for this high performance mo-sheen.

    Hi Ryan,
I noticed loading issues on an Ipad. It sort takes long to load or it loads but you cannot scroll the page as if it is still loading something pr frozen . And only does this once in a while.

I kinda agree, even if there's no performance loss. I wouldn't be linking to those places unless you're getting paid by the hit.

    Regarding thumbnails:
Thumbnails vs full image isn't much problem for the server, because the full image must be hosted anyhow.

But it is slower for the user if thumbnails aren't used.

  20. in the top left corner there is a symbol with 3 small boxes and a line. put your mouse over that and a drop downs comes up. click on watched threads

Unsure of where to ask this, but on the old format, there was a drop down menu that said "thread tools", which I used weekly for sending a link to the Friday Art Show to some friends overseas.

Does it no longer exist, or can my "tech challenged ***" just not find it?

It's takin' some gettin' used to, this new layout!

    Thanks!

Ryan, When I go to "watched threads" and then "go to first unread" the screen goes to the proper place, but is "frozen", can't use the arrow keys to move around on the thread. Thank you for any help you can provide. I don't know if it me or the new format.
