Could this be done, has it been done?

I've been trying to figure out which direction to go to lower my '57 IHC. The rear will be flipped for now, and eventually bagged. But the front is my main concern. I can flip the front axle & lose a few springs. I can hack up the whole thing and throw in a IFS clip I've got...but then I thought about bagging the front with the straight axle.

Bag mounts could be made to bolt directly to the spring mounts on top of the axle and to the frame. Then a triangulated 4-link setup...and it should be done...shouldnt it? Steering would be an issue I'm guessing.

    Am I missing anything?

the truck had a parallel leaf front suspension to begin with.. prior to the stock motor goin south it was A very very very nice restoration..

my pal kieth did the job.. I believe he knocked a few leaves out of the front end, made some bag mounts that allow the airsprings to push between the spring and axle . its not "stupid low" but the darn thing sits NICE when its down.

I "think" it has about 4 inches of travel..

this shot was taken by the hamb's own tokyo. on our way to columbus.. as he hung from the passanger side of my 40..

    the truck rides great...

Yeah I guess keeping a few leaf springs would keep me from having to run a 4-link setup....hmmm

Got any pics of the setup on that truck?

Figuring it out isn't the problem, I'm just wondering if there would be any issues I hadn't thought of but it seems there really isn't. This just might be the way to go.
