Rounded up the oldest son, helps to have a kid who is 6'8", 260 lbs. The 13 year old on the left is already 6'1".
This is awesome. Can't wait to see it finished and the most important part, bonding time with your son.
Great family project. With sons the size of yours, I assume a chop and channel will not be part of the plan.
No channel, maybe a chop eventually. I am 6'4" and drive a stockish (for now) '27 T. I am fine with it, but it's a tight. For this project, we are going to get it together and put some miles on it, probably in primer. I think then do a mild chop.
Congrats on taking on this for your son always helps to get the younger generation interested in all things Flat, kudo's to you my friend.............
Working on getting things mocked up on the engine - generator, fan, etc. Got the diff together also. Need to figure out what spring to use with the hangar approach I am going with.
Good deal with your kid...I bought a 39 Tudor in1975 when I was 15....pop helped me a lot...still got both of em and thankful for it....pops a31 model,...older than the car! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Well I'm excited for you 2. My son and I started when he was about 15 on a 28 roadster. He's 24 now. We traded the back 1/2 of a 28 phaeton for the back 1/2 of a roadster from the nice old guy up the road. He learned to weld . I recall he welded up up a rear tranny mount at the school shop after we fabbed it up. Pretty bubble gummy but I didn't criticize and bolted it in. He is now a far better welder than I ever was and the mount never failed. He did prob 75 % of the work on the car under my direction as the idea guy. Put an 8Ba Flathead in. We still have the car. Check out him and the car at
Flattie is 0.80 over, 3/4 cam. Trying to keep things stockish and simple/cheap/reliable. Tires being mounted now. I have to keep welding patch panels now.
