just picked up my "new to me" 1954 crestline the day before yesterday. trying to ID the stock 2bbl carb. cant seem to find a replacement number for it anywhere on the internet. ordering new lakes for it today along with spider caps & skirts. going down a few more inches on my next day off.off to buy a roll of angel hair after work today. 10415562_1516051295280942_2057960443873953689_n.jpg 10415562_1516051295280942_2057960443873953689_n.jpg 10463055_1516026981950040_70464573734499662_n.jpg it has a rebuilt 239 already ,30 on the tree with overdrive, clean body & paint, tuck & roll interior already done. got a bit of work to go to make her look the way i want but i think i scored for $4,000.- delivered to my door.....

I wouldn't do anything except lower it a couple of inches front and rear and go cruising. Maybe add a set of more custom looking hub caps but on those more doors the less you change the better they look.

Instead of spiders pop the center caps out and run some bullets, lower it, get some wide whites... Your Rollin

A lot of wisdom here. It's really easy to ruin a really nice car by adding gee-gaws to it instead of enhancing the original styling by lowering it and leaving the rest of it the heck alone. Just my $.02.

That's a beauty! Just lowering it a bit is gonna change the looks. Very nice!

Stock carb is gonna be an ebu Holley "94." Love 54 fords! I would say you bought it right. 239s aren't the best engines though, and if it's been pulled and "rebuilt" you might check your casting numbers. The best things I've done to my car is swap in a 292 and swap in an overdrive. The stock overdrive trans is tough to beat in terms of reliability

I think you know what Jeff was talking about, there are a lot of Knowledgeable guys there and they can answer a host of questions.

IMHO,you got a really good deal on a clean car,,do simple modifications, lower it,a set of white walls, but please forget the angel hair!o_O HRP

Installed a new stereo , some dummy spots , pulled the hubcaps & put on some ribbed beauty rings. Next will be a few inches of drop & a set of skirts. Trying to find the push through bullet caps for the wheels. Problem is , my centers are 2.5"... Can't find them anywhere in that size anymore. Don't want to grind out the wheels either, & would like to avoid the cost of spider caps right now. Other than that , I'm replacing the starter tomorrow morning & trying to decide between lake pipes or bellflower tips...

My opinion, lake pipes look better on two door. Good looking car though, even better price you paid.
