My sentiments exactly.They did 3 or 4 of those that I have seen over the years that piqued my interest.
That side shot seems to be the photo that shows up on most sites though. One good looking car. It's in one of Montgomery's books, but I don't believe there is any more info than what you have already.

Another of the many customs from Neil Emory and Valley Custom shop. To me there cars always showed great taste and restraint followed up with unparalleled craftsmanship. His grandson is on the site so maybe he has some pics. Torchie.
I have always liked the early custom styling. I remember that photo from 'The Rodders Journal' #12. According to the article Dean took the photo across the road from Neil Emory's place in 1942. The owner apparently was Bill Faris, customiser unknown.
I just typed Bill Faris into google and a link to Rikster's Fotki site came up, apparently Link Paola did the custom work.
The Emory /Valley Custom "style" is there in abundant similarity to the '37 Dodge they did. I don't have a pic handy. Someone else?

Gorgeous man. Simple and clean. I have always loved 38s and 41s even though some folks think of them as the orphan years. I still kick myself over letting a '38 get away from me about 30 years ago. It was up in Long Beach. Had a straight body and had been stuffed with a 331 Cad motor in the 50s. I p***ed on it. What an idiot.
A-ha! A man after my own loves in life! The 38 standard is a terribly under rated car, and yes I have a 1938 Standard Club Coupe! Good luck with the search Ryan, sorry I can't offer any ***istance on this car. It is a gorgeous car are we going to see another one replicating this soon?? Doc.
Can't believe nobodys comented on it. You lot are usually full of opinions. I'm after some ideas on colour choice and wheel/tyre combo (I know the roof isn't right yet, it will be)......anyone????
