if it pisses, you probably dont have enough radiator. thats why almost all old cars do not have an overflow and you run em about an inch or so from the top.

True, but I'm going to need one for running at the track and thought it would be much better using something different than what's offered in catalogs these days.

I picked this up recently... an old Go Kart gas can. I'll have to come up with a cap and hose fitting but the bottom already has 2 tapped holes. I'll plug one and put a petcock in the other.

I used a can of Marvels Mystery Oil - cause it was the oldest looking CAN on the shelf I didn't care about. Since then I've been looking for OLD auto related cans - cool graphics - stuff like UPPER LUBE -Mcmillan Oil - STP - etc. I've found a couple COOL one's. The one I keep wanting to make up is a......... naw I better fab it up first - don't want any one copying it until it's on my car.

I haven't mounted it yet, but I have a 90 year old Johnny Walker bottle, that an buddy of mine gave me, promising that is would hold up to the heat. When he gave it to me I asked if it was a bit insane using something that old, (due to the value) and his response was, "Maybe, but your car is like 70 years old and you're going to drive the wheels off it." I like how he thinks!

No need for a label, this baby's clear glass and embossed 'John Walker & Sons, LTD., Kilmornoch, Scotland'.

Jim Beam bottle.... I drank it the first time, I let the neighborhood cats drink it the 2nd time, 3rd time, etc....

I've broke 2 so far, can't wait to break the current one so I have an excuse to break another to give me an excuse to drink another! Plus it helps me keep warm in the garage, as long as I don't get stupid and break my windshield by kicking it.... and then ask how i can fix it....

You could use one of those old skinny brass carbon-tet fire extinguishers.

I plan to use a newer aluminum fire extinguisher I have. About the size of a propane torch bottle. I plan to strip the paint and polish it first.

Vintage Pabst Blue Ribbon can, has " no opener needed" on can. Can't remember when first pull tabs came out, mid 60s?

Anyway it passed tech @ HAMB drags and Continental's Day of the Drag Race.:D

    hey...a catch can....good thinkin, i've just been using the ground:D .

i've seen at local junk shops tons of old beer cans, i always wanted to find the one that jus said "BEER" on it. white can, black lettering! my buddy johnny is a pilot, he's got a piss cup that he uses on long flights, like a 'pee-canteen' .it's a red plastic jug...dammit it has a funny name and i can't think of it. They make the "lady jane adapter" for lady pilots...now that would be humorous to use.

  26. You could always use a Massengil bottle;even leave the applicator on it and run the hose into that.

[I used one in my terraplane, took it apart cut off pump, drilled a hole through the handle for a vent then soldered back together. Used wall mount to hold it to the fire wall, works. QUOTE=Frank]You could use one of those old skinny brass carbon-tet fire extinguishers.
