The '54 was the first Ford with ball joint suspension, and the familiar dropped tube crossmember that mounted engine and lower control arms. Any OHV FMC engine is practically a bolt-in, (interchangability of mounts) and the F-E installation with Cruiso or standard transmission falls onto the ****** mount by reversing it. Woodward Blvd. saw the new F-E engine installed in a '54 Tudor, (Ford engineers tested the new prototype engine in late 1953) I had an article, wish I could read it again. The prototype engine was a 332" Police Interceptor, high compression, mechanical lifters, adjustable rockers, Holley 4 bbl. High H.P., but the main thing was its front mounted distributor, and the package was a Bolt-In! Needless to say, I was to own a flock of '54 Ford Coupes! I also have one now...

My engine is just a 223 ci 6cylinders I'm rebuilt this engine All the parts is new, but this weekend I re - defuses(unsettles) because I have an oil leak at the level (rear main seal)
Great progress! Rear seal leaks seam to happen. It takes a little work to fix them sometimes. If your seal is the rubber type, be sure the lip is facing inward. If it is a rope seal, soak the rope for a few days in motor oil before you put it in. If you put a PCV from a newer car on your new engine, it will stay cleaner inside and should leak less. Be sure the oil fill cap is vented with filter media.
