sure doesn't look like "out in the woods". It looks like some sort of outdoor theater and the old mill or pump or whatever the flathead is powering is a display. Interesting just the same.
I'd say from the looks of the stuff in the back ground that belongs to a park or an equipment museum.
I have seen a lot of Ford 4 cylinders & Flatheads set up to power early farm equipment & saw mills back in the 50's & 60's. This one appears to be set up to run some sort of equipment. HRP
I like how they used the base from another carb for a spacer. Add a radiator and fire it up.....they used it instead of their tractor to run equipment.
Most machine shed engines need the accelerator pump as the belts were engaged so I think it was used on his car! Posted using Full box of Crayons on the Kitchen Walls App!

Well, truth is it's on the property of a small logging museum. The place was not open at the time I saw it. A guy could possibly trade for something more "logging" oriented. I was so jazzed with the flattie, I didn't even pay attention to the equipment but I think it was either a pump or an air compressor. I'm about 40 miles from it so probably won't be back for awhile. Since the place is wide open, I'm amazed that someone hasn't stripped it yet.
Roger that. I'm also a model railroader and funky logging / mining operations are always interesting to me and modeling gasoline powered aux equipment is fun stuff, especially with flatheads. Perhaps I could find out more on the web? What was the name / location of the place? Gary

The "extra base" is actually a special casting, and contains another set of throttle plates by which the belt-driven governor keeps things under control as loads change.
That's a cool piece of equipment, and mostly intact. Must have been many generators, pumps etc including trucks using flatheads. Sadly most are gone now :-( Bought up by dudes chasing accel pump push rods..... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
