Didn't intend to start a war, Kustpm, just trying to understand. You have spent so much time, effort and skill reworking your car I can't help but wonder why you did it. There must be a strong reason that even a muddle-headed oldster like me can understand. Don't be offended, just help me out, wouldja?

I love it. Build it to suite yourself. The bags add another dimension when sitting still. Best of both worlds. Air it up and drive the wheels off. Can't wait to see it completely done.

I don't have a problem with the use of bags to give more driveability to a heavily static-lowered car - an extra couple inches of lift via bags to allow the negotiation of steep driveways, speed bumps, trailer loading, etc. I even understand why an air-adjustable suspension instead of springs is a good thing if it's done safely and correctly. But I just don't "get" the idea of "laying frame".

Everybody here seems to be intent on defending themselves and this concept that nobody has taken the time to explain why it's so "badass" (whatever that means?) and desireable - other than that they've "got the right" to cut up their car any way they want - which I totally support. Perhaps other members of your club could help out?

Again, I'm not trying to start a war, I'm just trying to understand and thought that you might be able to help me out. Sorry if I offended you.

It just comes down to personal preference. Thats it. Some hate it,some love it. The variety for me is what makes the hobby/lifestyle great. Once we agree to disagree things will be better. Like woman, somethings you just can't figure out.

I think he tried to explain it with (Black or White). There is a saying about "If it has to be explained you"ll never get it. " .I have bagged cars I have cars with just suspension work to lower them. Where I grew up, guys lowered them as low as they could and drive them. THEN hyd systems were invented, now for the really low it'd hyd or air.

first and foremost its your car do it to suit you which it looks like you did. i like to see what the young guns are doing because lets face it your going to take over when we are gone.just like we did for are fathers and the older generation. i love the traditional ways but bags are nice too. whatever tricks your trigger.

Kustpm nice build, interesting that you left the '41 steering set up in place. Nice double D on the steering shaft:D. just a note on the steering box/shaft, my set up easily filled with water. so i made a "shield" over the steering shaft to deflect water running down the shaft into the box
