I bought a Halibrand Champ quickchange and thought it was aluminum, but it looks like it has been painted and where the paint is flaking off, it looks dark like magnesium, are there any simple tests I can do to find out? It's a Culver City rear. Thanks.

Doesn't aluminum smell like tuna and taste like chicken?

  12. Al taste your woman in the hot summer time

  13. Take a big oil barrel and drill some holes in the bottom. Fill with wood, coal, get the fire going and get it really hot. Place the quickchange in it.

If the metal comes out the bottom, it was aluminium. If it burns like a bastard and melts the barrel, it was magnesium.
