31Vicky, did you think about the name for your thread and just posted it anyway? You musta expected the responses you got.
    Hahaha

  8. I was expecting alot better and much more creative actually.
Then maybe just maybe someone serious would see it and help me out.

Buy a standard one from HF and modify it ( you have a saw and a welder just get some 3/8 plate ) ..seen several people done this in the past on other forums . from what I seen its the top jaws that really do all the work .

  11. Believe me - I've thought about making one. I though this might be a viable option that could happen quicker.

But I'd rather have this style jaw vs the Lancaster style.

    What's this style called ?
I've seen these work and I think they are better.

"Deep Throat" and "Shrink" don't seem to belong in the same sentence.

  14. 31,
If the throat is too loose just stick in a ham and pull out the bone. :D

If I had one you would be welcome to it buddy.

I was fascinated by what's on alibaba.com - the threshold to the Chinese manufacturer.

I don't know if this will help but it worked for me.
My shrinker is an Erco. I mounted the top and bottom complete holders and jaws in my press brake. That gave me all the throat I could ever need, not much vertical clearance , but for what I was doing it worked perfectly.

  19. Lmao -
So this morning she asked what I wanted for my birthday. Of course I said that I really needed a deep throat shrinker. She says "oh so that's what we are calling that now"

what you finally woke up after she slapped you for your comment on friday ???

  21. Hahaha !

Actually she's been scrounging amazon.com for me. She's got 140.00 credit she wants to put towards one How cool is that :)

Now searching this extensively has turned up some findings that I find very interesting. Seems there are a bunch of different colored units being distributed but they appear to be built from the same set of drawings. Maybe even in the same plant in the same province with the same contact information. I can build everything they build off shore but the jaws.

    from ct.

There are several companies selling replacement jaws for their shrinkers, as they are a consumable part...also some offer restippling services. Just gotta do a focused search.

  23. I've only found one place that offers the oval jaws in replacement fashion. Eckold is another that offers just the dies. Both of those are big money. Us tools has a great price on the square Lancaster type jaws.

I've emailed a few places in austrailia and Nz that carry the metalmaster brand machine with both sets of dies at $450.00 Au dollar - The latest exchange rate on USD is 0.94. I've inquired about replacement jaws for this machine.

did you try asking Linda, Harry, Dolly or Bill?

  25. No, I hadn't thought of that. Probably because I need to make some metal move not a ****. But if you have their contact info it's worth a shot because this isn't going the direction I was hoping. :)

I have no idea what kind of money you are thinking about spending, but the Baileigh one you linked to is sure nice. Don't you get an Alliance discount for Baileigh ... every little bit helps.
