Hot Rods HELP--Crack in cyl wall

    Anyone out there have a 351C block, .030 bore they are willing to part with?? Maybe someone has a built short block they have lost interest in, anything would help at this point. Thanks

    Sleeve x2. $75 - $100 at most machine shops.

    x3. I made 650hp with a 427 chevy with 3 sleeves. Sonic test to see where the other holes are at, if the rest look ok, sleeve it. Even if you had 1 or 2 other shaky holes, I'd sleeve 3 and run it.

    The 351"C has the thinnest cylinder walls of anything we work on. They don't like to be bored. Sometimes even boring for thinwall sleeves will hit water.

    Are you trying to reuse your existing .030" pistons?

    Where are you located?

    Trying to use pretty much everything, but would go for a built 351C if the price was right.

    I believe that "427designer" is in the business of casting those blocks "new" , as well as casting other HAMB friendly items. Might be a good idea to 'PM' him for info?? At least you'd know what the market was.
     
  9. I have a complete 351 Cleveland 2 bbl engine. it hasn't been run in several years. it still turns free. $400 cash. There is another member from florida needing parts from a 64 wagon I have .
