Since you brought this thread up... This is the crank from my 389 coming back from the HAMB Drags in 2012. The crank was a stock cast Pontiac crank that was cut a little sharp on the fillet radius. It lasted shy of 90K miles and would have gone a few more if it had a fatter radius on the fillet and if it didn't see 7 grand on a regular basis. I abused this engine and this crank every single time I drove it so any failure most likely can't be blamed on using a hub not a balancer. For the record, the crank broke 2,970 miles into a 3000 mile round trip and still made it all the way home. I stuck another crank and bearings in her and was back on the road the next weekend.
