I bought a new truck a couple months ago and haven't been able to fix an oil leak. The oil leaks down from around the oil pressure line, I have already replaced the line, fittings and had the intake resealed yet it continues to leak. The longer I drive the more it leaks but if I drive around a bit and park it the oil doesn't leak down until it sits for a while. Thanks in advance-AJ

After you make sure those things were fixed correctly, and the valve covers aren't leaking, see about the plug at the top rear of the block. Had one leak on a 283 years ago, it was "fun" to find it and fix the leak.

  3. are you certain that there is a gasket on the distributor ? If yes,try putting a new one on.

Will look into both had someone else do the intake and still don't know if that was done right, might re-do just to be sure. PS the engine is a fairly new goodwrench 350 crate motor

Well my truck is my only vehicle right now and I don't think I can dig into it for a while, so can you let me know if it works?

  7. well mine is my project car so i dont get to get on it too often. I was in the process of putting the engine back together with new pistons, so it may be a bit before i get mine running.
what kind of fitting are you running? do you have a pic of your car and leak?
does it use a washer to seal?

My daily is marking it's territory, I think it is actually the oil pressure sending unit itself that is leaking but I'm not sure. Personally I feel it's a good thing, pour clean oil in the top and it dribbles dirty oil out

you can buy the flourecent dye that you put in the oil run the engine and go over it with a hand held black light you can get at any spencers novelty store for about $10 and see where the leak is the black light will make the dye show up instantly.

I had the same or similar problem years ago. It was the aft intake gasket. It would only leak at highway RPM. Oil would come out and run down the block, drip on the exhaust pipe and smoke.
