Soooo luv the panels. Back in the early 70's while still in HS I had a 56 Ford sedan delivery. It was straight with a 292 Y block and 2spd auto trans. and the PO mounted a huge whip antenna on the passenger rear quarter. I sold it to a junk dealer in L.A. for $14. and didn't think much of it at the time. Fast forward about 15 yrs and I'm attending the Reno Auto Show and tah dah! A purdy yellow 56 panel del. front and center. Only the 2nd one I'd ever seen in person. I struck up a conversation with the owner who was eager to find the provenance of his car. I told him about mine back in SoCal many years before. He said that he was able to track his back there as well. 2+2=? Nahh...I said, mine had a huge whip antenna mounted on the side. At this point he opened the velvet crowd barrier and invited me to look inside the rear of his car. He pulled back the interior panel on the passenger side and said " you mean like this"? God as my witness you could see the patch job where the antenna mount had been. I was lucky enough to give him information about the history of "our" car to get him back to the 60's at least. He was very happy and so was I now that I was older and more appreciative of classic iron like that car. I currently have a 54 F100 Panel that I'll keep around a bit longer than that 56.
