The truck is on a 1999 S-10 frame.

I guess I should have known that. Oh duh. Mine is on the stock frame with a Mustang 2 front end. I have seen on that the owner cut and welded the axel to drop it nd bolted it to the frame. Doubt the ride was very good.

Is the S-10 a long bed or the extended frame. Also, did you need to use spacers in the front to give it a wider stance?

ex. cad short bed, but it is 10 inches shorter now. Yes 1 1/4 spacers up front.

Umm, question. I had an 88 4X4 S10 with the stock size tires. I coldn't keep upper balljoints in it or much over 20K mi. Do the newer trucks have beefier stuff? Just curious as I figure the extra 1 1/4" of leverage would aggravate this.

Of course mine was 4X4 and I rallied the living crap outa it.

  9. I read those frames are easy to shorten at the fish mouth, is that what you did?

Yes that is correct, easy to make shorter. GM useed the same frame for all the diff. lengths, they just slid them together or apart to make diff. wheelbases.

Cool truck I have a 49 with all corvette suspension and a 51 that's half done with s-10 thinking of a straight six for a daily driver
