Hey guys, anyone have any experience with the TD PAK Master 38XL ? Problem is, it worked fine last night, today when I went to use it, I turned it on, and the AC light and GAS lights came on, the air blew for the initial 30 seconds like always, then the gas light goes off, and theres no air pressure to the unit, I can see the pressure guage is at 0. Seams like the soleniod is turning off. I found a on line manual, and in the trouble section, it does not cover this problem. Im fixing to open the unit and see if I can see anything. Any ideas ? Thanks guys ...
I'm not familiar with that model, but it would be best to open it up and see if you can watch the solenoid. Maybe a short somewhere or a bad solenoid. Sorry I'm not much help. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
We have that same unit and it has actually been pretty good and reliable. If worst comes to worst, call them and ask what can be causing it, they probably have a tech line. Don
Thanks for the help guys. My moisture trap on the compressor is clean, and there,s not one inside the unit. I opened it up and looked inside, I can hear the solenoid click when I turn the unit on, and the air blows for about 6 seconds, then it clicks off and the air stops, and the gas light on the unit goes out, and theres no air pressure on the gauge. Ust to be, when the air stopped after 6 seconds, the gas light stayed on, and you could see the air pressure on the gauge.
I've had similar problem on a Lincoln a long time ago, it was just a worn off electrode, allowing it to move and blocking the air or disrupting the contact, so the unit was just shutting down. Like 55 stude said about 20$, might be worth looking and this part of the torch.
i have a well used TD plasma that does the same. usually unplugging it then plugging it back works. taking the torch apart and double check everything cause a dirty tip/ bad connection did the same thing to me.
I fought mine for two days doing the same thing other than it would initialize an arc then shut off. I had the air pressure down below 60psi and it wanted more. Try it.
up date, turns out, i jumped the thumb switch on the torch, and it worked, so i pushed the micro switch button with my finger nail, and it worked, turns out, the switch "button" cover had worn, so i put a small piece of plastic in the button cover, and presto.. Im so damn happy, lol ... thanks all for the input ... long live thermal dynamics
