Anybody Seen Rocky????

To anyone posting updates from the Salt...did Rocky and the "Goat Coupe" make it? Did the old six hold up under pressure? Will he make it to the Drags?

Just wondering.....

I saw him this morning, leaving the Motel 6 parking lot and heading for the salt. The old Poncho is doing fine.

Hey! A 10 year old thread I missed. Yeah, I drove that old 41 Pontiac to the HAMB drags from Omaha and then down through Durango Colorado, over Wolf Creek p*** [2nd gear through the construction near the summmit] and on to the HAMB drags....then home. Had to install new points and plugs in Wendover but only as a precaution...had 'em with me.
Winged Avenger now has the ol' Poncho somewhere in Indiana or Wisconsin somewhere....still has that ol 239 six banger flatmotor.

Might take a day or two but Rocky WILL respond. That was a memorable year Rocky, my first HAMB drags, met you and a bunch of friends I had been talking to for a couple of years, won the raffle engine. Still one of the best weekends of my life.

 

Thankfully Rocky doesn't take very long to respond when talking to him in person.
Always good to see him at local car events around Omaha...
