This place is at about mile marker 59 on Interstate-5 in Washington State. You can see it from the freeway, traveling north or south. These photos were shot from the frontage road next to the freeway. I was running late for an appointment and couldn't go in because I'd have been there for hours. It looks like there's stuff stashed way in the back too, hidden by trailers. In the photo of the 28? tub (close-up) you can see a $6500 price on the side. The guy probably wants double of a realistic value. Anyways, looks like some interesting stuff....... His phone # is 425-508-3545
That guy is a HUGE ***hole. last time i went there he told me nothing was for sale and that he would shoot me if i came on his property without him knowing
1942-48 Lincoln Continental Here's what Rikster did in photoshop to mine. It's happening this year. I'll be calling the yard for possible parts sometime in the next year because he's only 200 miles away. Sometimes parts are parts especially for uncommon cars. A--holes or not. I'll judge the person selling the parts & his asking $$$$. After all it's my money & i know of parts in Michigan & UPS/Fedex are always an option.
Stopped on our way to CA last month. Not Mr. Congeniality. There are several places like this up and down I-5. The guy with all the mid 50's Pontiacs outside Redding is the same way.
You can only live so long and then the relations will sort it out! You can not take it with you. Having all that stuff around obviously gives him some sort of comfort. They are called hoarders. It is a disease similar to collecting and hot rodding etc. Dr Phil needs to have a chat with him!!!!
Oh so true.... I used to go through a small town in SoCal. There was a guy that lived 2 blocks off Main st. The city built up around him. He had about an acre covered 6 feet deep. Lots of old cars & parts & plain junk. The 1st time I stopped was in 1977 or '78. Spotted a pair of 16X10 Halibrands from the road, behind his fence. Offered him fair market value, back then about $50-100 per wheel. He ran me off screaming the whole way out. Tried five more times over the next 10 years on different items and it always ended with the same results. I even offered him more than fair prices on the later visits, hoping to "get in good" with him. He died in '91 and his kids sold it all to a s**** dealer.... (for s**** price) All those years, the old guy coulda been eatin' Ribeye steaks instead of Alpo burgers.
I also get along fine with Chuck, but hard to deal with. He has a 49 Merc Coupe that is solid, never been touched, that would be great to put back on the road! And yes he has 5-6 34 Fords!!!!!
Yeah..this is an old thread... but I thought I'd give anyone even THINKING about stopping here a warning... It might save you from getting a gun poked in your face. We stopped by this psycho's place on the way back from Portland the other day (Family Vacationers from Texas). I was greeted by Mr. Wallace who almost ran me down in his wrecker and called me every name in the book for just stopping in front of his place (BTW.. I never stepped foot the property) I'm a pretty big guy ..but this nut didn't have any problem at all getting in my grill and grabbing me by the shirt. Fortunately for me ... I was able to calm him down before things got too ugly. I'm sure some of you locals probably know the guy and may even vouch for him; although I can't imagine that... but this is the one place you want to use caution if you happen to stumble across it.
probably sick of people poking their noses around all his stuff then coming back later and stealing it when he is sleeping.
I should consider myself lucky, I stopped once and had a look - wasn't met by anybody. I've been driving I-5 past the place for years - nothing has changed. I figured the prices must be rediculous since some of those cars (convertibles for example) are definitely of interest to people. My prediction: dude sounds off balance and will crush them before he sells them to anybody for less than a mint.
The way Wallace is going, that stuff will finish rusting away before anybody gets a fair chance to save it. In this part of the country things don't last very long sitting out like that. I've seen several idiots like him over the years.
Hmmm must of caught him on a good day....he seemed to like us. "Come back anytime..." Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
