Ok heres the deal I swaped out stamped steel valve covers what had breathers and pvc valve in it for a set on finned no holes valve covers that I put breathers on both but .... now it seems like a lil smoke is commin outta the breathers .. the motor is a NEW crate... ???
You need a pcv valve, they pull a vacuum on the crankcase and expand the rings providing a better seal in the cylinder.
Perfectly normal. Even crate motors have blow by to some extent. Until you restore some type of system to bring fresh air into the engine and carry away the blow by fumes, they will rise up and come out at the breathers. The PCV system ****ed those fumes into the intake and burned them. Fresh air entered through the other breather. Breathers are more than just vents. There is air flow through the engine. The normal blow by was always there. The PCV valve just wisked it away before you saw it.
now would it work if i put the pvc valve in the iol filler tube thats in the intake?? that would make sence to me
They make an after market breather with a PCV valve built in. Plumb it just like the one you took off. PCV on one side and a breather on the other side. It's the same deal just prettier components.
