Man,the lettering job really finished it off perfectly!

Looks like a Match Race refugee from '65 or so...!:)

    Nice job Jim.

Thanks! The guy who did it is local, but from somewhere else...says he got started in the 60s. He does understand what it's all about.

That's the hardest part:Finding a guy who "gets it".
The guy who did mine did a decent job in the end,but it took many meetings, photo examples, and me taking the time for months before to find the correct fonts and learn how to mock it all up in MS excel and he still needed lots of coaching....And I still wanna tweak it a bit...:(

Yours maintains the perfect balance of Hollywood and blue collar. Its not over the top glitzy, but it's solid quality work and well thought out.

    Thanks!

I piddled with a few more things, and went back to the drag strip. Slicks, different distributor, temporary different tach and fuel pressure gauge. I only made one p***, but it was good enough for me. First full p*** I've made the car, with traction and everything working right. I'm pretty happy with the time, it ran 10.71 at 127, which should put me in the low tens at 130+ in the midwest where I'll be racing on Drag Week. I have 1300 miles on the car now.

I hauled it to the strip with my 57 Suburban. I finally got a weight distributing hitch, which really helps when towing with a half ton with not much rear suspension travel. I wanted to see how it would work, and I was happy with the way it tows. Straight and smooth. It rained most of the way home, too, which is a good preview for taking a long road trip.

I'm tempted to sandblast and paint my ****py old car trailer, just to make it look nicer for the trip.

Thanks! Here's the time slip, my car is number 33 as you can see in the video, 10.71 at 127. I think it'll do the job, shouldn't get too close to the 9s to get me in trouble, but it'll definitely go quicker in Oklahoma and Kansas, when I race on Drag Week.

It is the original 1957 chevy truck Indian Turquoise. It's the original color that it was painted. I painted the roof white, though.

Love that pic of the Suburban and car on the trailer, looks like it could have been taken in the 60's!

heh...we were talking about that last night, a guy would have to have been rolling in the dough to have a tandem axle car trailer in 1966
