Have a 63 SWB "wronged" F100 and can only find longbed beds all around me and no style side shorts. Just looking for some info on cutting down the longbed to turn it into a short. I know you have to cut in front of the wheel and behind but just don't know how much. Thanks for helping!
You omitted part of your profile that lets us know what state you reside,if we knew that most times someone can point you to a salvage yard in your state that may have a short bed. HRP
There I fixed it. I'm am from southern Indiana and I have check about every junkyard around and no one has any short beds
someone posted a link to a nice shortbed a few days ago on either the 57-60 or 61-66 facebook group page. i'm on both and honestly don't remember which it was as it was something i didn't need but i do remember the pics looked nice. if you are on those groups maybe post a "looking for" post and see if someone can help....ken.....
What kind of bed are you looking for?,,I have a friend that has a truck that has the same bed as your avatar. HRP
don't forget to look in the trailer section on c'list. truck bed trailers are common. theres a decent 64 short turned into a trailer on my local c'ist for $400. decent bed and it still has the 9" under it for it's axle...ken....
I am in the same boat...there was one listed on craigslist in northern Virginia last week. The pic looked pretty good and they were asking $400. They told me that they would take $300 for it. But that's a 3+ hour drive one way. I'll keep looking. Had the same problem back around 1995 when I restored a '66. The bed was beat to death. Finally found one in North Carolina (and a hood) all for $4
Found that bed in North Carolina. It's 7 hours one way for me. And found some fenders and a hood in Springfield,MO for $350
