Hot Rods What hangs from your rear view mirror

I did a search and found a thread on bobble heads and what's hanging from John Millners rear view mirror didn't find a specific thread so i thought I'd start one.

 

A VFW Buddy Poppy. Replace it every Memorial Day.
Have had one in every car I have owned since 1975.

 

good ol stars stripes bandana , and a monkeys fitst on a string (look it up) , in my its daily its and Irish cross.

 

Red Mardi Gras beads, found in my front yard one morning after neighbor had a party.

 

This, or one of two or three other things, depending on my mood. Haven't run into anything or anybody yet!

 

While I can appreciate the various fuzzy dice and High School graduation tassels, I've always found anything I hung from the mirror to be a distraction and at my age I don't need anymore blind spots even if they're small ones.

 

It's illegal in NYS to hang anything from the rearview. It's generally not enforced, but gives them enough reason to pull you over if they want.

Me too, DAWG! Since 1966. Only it's the American Legion Poppy. My Grandma was a longtime member of the American Legion Womens' auxiliary.
It's also illegal here in Illinoyd..........

 

My dearly missed bud Mike Gator Gaydos Pinstripers Hall Of Fame Badge he wore at Autorama years ago. He cruises with the top down on a regular basis

 

Nuthin. I find stuff hanging from the mirror to be tacky looking not to mention it obscures your vision.

 

I have a small hand crafted BLUE swim flipper hanging from the mirror of the deuce sedan. HRP

 

Nothing. That's the way I like it.

Same here nothing from the rear view.

 

No hot rods (with mirrors) rolling right now but previously was a drum key on a chain.

When I was a kid it was fuzzy dice.

Dad was a sailor. Know exactly what that is.

Got dog tags hanging from mine.

 

I have a rubber chicken hanging from a noose in my work truck.

That lower back piercing would have me in the ditch by the end of the block!

Last thing that hung from my mirror was a piece of lingerie from some titty bar in western NY state that somehow ending up in the tow rig after a race night. Not sure where it ended up but pretty sure a crew members wife was non-too-happy when we got home.....

No lame ass fuzzy dice, no tassles, no baby shoes. When I was a kid ( 40 some years ago) I hung some rubbers from the mirror once , when I picked up a girl for a date she asked what the hell are them things for. I said you know what the hell they are for, the question is how long til I get to use them? That date was over in about 30 seconds flat! The guys at the Texaco stations that put me up to it had a hell of a good laugh though!

 

Had my HS '69 GRADUATION TASSEL gone to the dash, don't like anything in my view.

Yeah,there is..

It seems there was a joke between me and some of the other club members about extra curricular activates pertaining to a individual wearing blue flippers and nothing else.

At a club meeting in 1982 my pal Mike bestowed the Blue Flipper award on me.

He and his girlfriend dreamed this up and it still hangs on the wall in my reading room to this day. HRP

Nothing in the coupe, but I have an Motoring Ichthusiast hat pin stuck in the antenna hole on the base of the windshield divider bar and a 1970 Rod & Custom "Street is Neat" button hanging in the speaker grille.




The truck has a wristband from the 2012 Frog Follies.
