Thats the exact same paint scheme i plan on doing! lol except with a gold stripe all way the around between the red oxide and the black.
Your car is definitely more complete and in nice shape than mine is, I'm digging the rear fenders! would you mind posting some pictures of the rear bottom sheet metal, i have no idea how it was originally because mine was completely rotted

Next time when it is up in the air I will take some pics. Do you have an idea what to do with the top of the front window, I want to cut it up after chopping and put a Model A visor on it, I did the same with my ''31 Chevy (I tried the Plymouth grille on her..)

I fabricated some hinges for mine, for sure you need a lot of cutting to get that window open, even on the inside structure, I also tried my beadroller with a scateboardwheel at the bottom for the interiour

That looks very Good! wish mine was more complete when i got it. i am probably going to have a fixed front windshield and eventually the rear window and the rear sides. as far as the doors, there isn't enough left to make functionable roll up and down windows (with my budget at least) so i am going without. Plus im keeping the top open so there is no point to have to have operating windows lol

Got my gauges ordered and installed, I am very happy with the outcome. Turned out better than I thought. I have heard lots of good as well as some bad things on these dolphin gauges. But the price was defiantly right

All I started with was the body so I don't have anything, sorry I can't help you out.

Last year my goal was to get it to be a rolling chassis, this year was to get the body off and painted so I could finish the frame over the winter and not have to worry about the body collecting more surface rust.

The body had a lot of character, then again it spent 40+ years in a swamp, I did my best to make it straight but I knew there was no way to not have character with my limited abilities and experience but I am fine with that

Here is the body after some body filler
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1407189099.493970.jpg

After a couple coats of sandable primer
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1407189141.275470.jpg

And finally the main color. I used 8:1 ppg dp74 and dp90, thanks to the others that figured out the perfect ratio! I still plan on painting the body lines black with a gold pinstripe

  28. Just read through the whole thread. Very cool how you get stuck in and get it done. I hope you still go with the pagan gold body one day, and at this rate, your,ll be driving it soon.

Thanks, it's been a learning experience that's for sure. I'll maybe paint it someday but for now it'll be fine for a couple years until I get sick of it. Since it's an epoxy primer it'll be easy enough to redo

Awesome build, subscribed. That 9" rear looked super wide until the body went on. What is the width of that rear?
