Yes, the gap between the bottom of the back gl*** and fwd edge of the deck lid is about two inches wider than stock now.

Just filled in the gap created by dropping the top down and forward. Wish I had some in-progress pics to show you. Todd Kraft out of Merriam KS did all the gl*** work.

That's cool as hell. I always wondered what it would like chopped, shaved and slammed.

Thanks. I really need to stop messing with the T-Bucket and get back to work on it (the 235 developed a few issues). I'm just not sure if i want to rebuild the 235 (it has a Fenton header, Langdons Holley/Weber, HEI and dual gl*** packs) or do the 327 i pulled from the T-Bucket. But it will stay a stick. Most likely a 5 speed.

My original intentions was to build a cruiser to haul the grandkids around in. I'm just afraid if i do the 327 it'll wind up as more of a racer than a cruiser.

I'm sorta in the same boat. My 235 is running good so far, but I've got a little 283 sitting in the garage calling to me. I like the idea of having more power,
but I do like the looks of a nicely done stovebolt 6.

Even though it's an old thread it's still a good topic, and in my opinion, highlights a major issue in customizing. That would be style and taste (or in many cases here, lack thereof)

I'm not going to bag on any particular rides here, but I will say that these cars seem to me to be some of the most difficult to chop successfully. Personally, I can't imagine why anybody would want to chop a 4 door sedan. But that point aside, these GM cars have a high bubble in the back of the roof that would ideally be eliminated in a proper chop. A good chop with proper lines has a nice, even, downward flow starting at the windshield and going backwards. That line shouldn't continue straight, or go upwards. Lots of the cars I see on this thread, sedans especially, are whacked straight down, with the same theory like you'd cut a Model A. Remove a cross-section and weld back together. WRONG. All it does is squash the car visually, and it still looks like a taxi cab. Care should be taken to remove more material from the back than from the front to get the right angle. But then that creates a problem with sedans since then there would be an angled door frame top. Furthermore, I personally think these cars are actually relatively well proportioned to begin with, so they don't lend themselves well to steep chops.

The back window poses the biggest issue. You can only lay it down so much. The hardtop roof is probably the nicest looking roof chevy offered that year. Would be bad*** to see a 2 door hardtop with a 4 door hardtop rear roof section.

I also note that these cars came from the factory with lots of stainless around the doors and pillars, and none of these cars have any of it. That's not a coincidence.
