Coat the threads of the compressor? Which threads? And what does that do.

Stimpy. I don't have a huge compressor. I think it's like a 17 gallon one, so it goes a little slower. I can't imagine doing it without one. I tried it before and it was super hard to do.you must be like the hulk!! Lol.:p

This is true, even 1-2 coils makes a difference. This was the beauty of playing with stock cars, springs were in and out in minutes.

On the car in your avatar?

If so, search a thread on here that begins with "A cheap and great alternative......", if ya' might want it a little lower in the nose.

Sort of, just loop around one or more coils and then secure the chain to the frame or something else so it keeps the spring from flying out and hitting you. Once the spring is installed and balljoints connected, take the chain out.

Nice... what springs did you use? I need to get some myself. I have a Moog listing I found somewhere. Once I take the old ones out I'll have a better idea on sizes. Really hoping to get a pair for around $75, not $175.

Cool.. thanks. Just ordered a set of CC850s from Amazon. $50.99 with free shipping. If it sits too low for whatever reason, I can machine up some 1" aluminum spacers for the top.

I installed Belltech lowered springs in my 64 Oldsmobile. Rented tool from Auto Zone and went for it. Fronts are recessed which made a difficult job worse. Dropped the arm and compressed spring down best I could and pried it out. After it was out the spring must have rolled a bit on driveway and compressor came loose and spring bounced a good 7' in the air. Scared the **** out of me. Its sits much better now, just need to dodge the major road cracks.

Loose springs are scary. I may just reach in with a torch and cut mine in 1/2 while the car is still together.

you don't need to cut them, just heat a section of the coil 1-2 inches long and the coil will collapse from the weight and then it can be lifted out after it cools.

Sorry that I didn't reply in time bobs! A mechanic put them in for me like 8 or 9 years ago. So I have no clue. :p
