Folks Of Interest Remembering Ed Cortopassi

This is an email that was forwarded to me by an old drag racer I am proud to know:

I don’t know if you heard the recent news, but Ed Cortop***i drowned in his swimming pool last evening (Tues.). I’m sure you’ll remember his “Gl*** Slipper” at Sacramento, Kingdon and the like. Following is a photo email I put together for the Standard 1320 e-group... thought you might like to see it.



Although I never got to see Ed or the Gl*** Slipper back in the day, I do have a few recent pics I’d like to share from Ed’s visit to the CHRR in 2007 with the car.

I have some old photos of him and the car. He was actually supposed to finally get honored at the Hot Rod Reunion in Bakersfield this year. It's too bad he won't be able to be there, but as far as I know, my dad and uncle are receiving the award for him. It will most likely be the last time the car ever comes out of the museum and gets fired up(if that happens).
