History KCIR

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by zombie cadillac, Aug 7, 2014.

  1. I know it has been done before, I used the search engine and found some threads from 3 or 4 years ago(when they shut the track down) with little activity on them. I would really dig hearing stories, and seeing photos of KCIR in its heyday.

i lost all the footage i had out there- i even had some footage from the Lawrence Drag Strip. There's actually a little bit of that strip left in the wooded areas between the new developements. I HATE that KCIR is gone. - rick

Wow, I've been out of the loop since I moved to the country. I didn't even know KCIR was gone.
I used to race there and Lawrence. I saw the Little Red Wagon and the Hemi Under glass both run at KCIR back when my dad was wrenching for an awb Belvedere. Ran the track myself a few times, but really loved the Lawrence track. It was like family there.

  5. 'fraid so, they Shut her down in 2011, i think it was. Political bs got it. People with big money and big pull got tired of the "noise" long sad story.

I heard they're trying to do that with another track now too. Can't remember which one though
