Had a little time to kill last night as my wife was at the courthouse helping to count votes.

I like the middle one also. I don't think pie cutting the hood on this model adds anything to the mix. I have a 48 Chevy coupe with a chopped top & 2" pie cut hood and lowering the front bulb of the hood helps for this car but on yours I think time would be better spent on the roof, fenders and other items you mentioned in the original post.

Personally, I never thot pie-cutting a hood added any better look to a car than the stock hood did...to me it ruins the original proportions...and the top of your Plym needs some work-I'd raise the front some and getting rid of the flush fit gl*** will improve the look considerably.

I took your photo over to the Photoshop thread to get the Earl Bruce '40 Ford treatment, and madfish was nice enough (and capable!) to knock out this beauty.
I'm not usually a fan of forward-angle chops, but this one seems to work, and is a lot easier than re-chopping.

 

I agree. I think it would look good with quarter windows filled in and chop left alone.

Guys, I appreciate all the kind words.

I did just recently acquire the rear window for a Carson Top. That will ultimately be what is done.

I am in the middle of a rather large axle swap on my '63 International. As soon as that I complete it's time to get hustling on the '41. I do some of my best work when I'm under a time crunch.

I can't wait to roll to Wildwood NJ for the Customs By The Sea with all my buddies. It's been a while since I've done a long road trip in one of my cars. Long overdue!

I've never understood why so many guys think that pie cutting the hood and making it slope downward is an improvement. All it does in my eyes is ruin the whole car, on these early cars, the hood line perfectly flows through the belt line and then slopes down the trunk. The "nose up" look of these cars is what makes them. Just my opinion of course.

So, here's a few updated pics of the Plymouth. I've repaired the v8 clearance holes in the front frame crossmember and stripped the paint from the firewall. I have plans to install the flathead 6 today. I also acquired full front factory drum brakes that are completely new and ready to bolt on. The disc brakes are coming off.

alright ****s.... its been over a week

 

I've been pecking away at things. Tomorrow starts fulltime until we leave for Customs By The Sea. I'll take some progress pics for sure.

Quick update.

The engine is mounted as is the transmission. I rebuilt and fabricated clutch and brake linkage. Installed different uprights with all new brakes.

I'm on a mission. I've made my list of to do's.
