Hot Rods Ford wide five hubcap clips

Need some help on this. 1936-39 Ford wide five wheels had five clips riveted to the wheel to hold on the hub cap. Replacement clips are $5 each plus shipping. Ouch! Has anyone every used VW clips for replacement?

Just about every car i own has wide fives...Just spend the $100 bucks man. At least your $400 worth of wide five caps won't fly of on the first corner that you throw your car in to........ I hate walkin around in the scrub lookin for lost caps that are scratched up after falling off coz I was a tight ****. Been there done that.

 

The VW clips aren't as heavy, but can be used along with the original Ford clips.
