Pretty much all week HRP. This weekend and next week are the best days to go.... No corporate sites up yet, nobody taking over parking lots and charging you to park., etc
The last few years Corporations have just ruined it. You used to be able to park at Northwood until Thursday night or Friday. Now they kick you out on Tuesday. I used to drive in on Tuesday and stay through Saturday. This year Ill be there Thursday through Saturday.
Driving the 56 to Michigan again tomorrow for a week. My son and I are going to also try and check out some of the other stuff further north that we have always heard about. Wednesday Night in Holly Michigan is a great cruise night that we attend each year.
Some of us old timers can't take the insanity of the regular Dream Cruise. It's turned into 30 miles 4 lanes of drunken tuners and jacked up 4X's that at times threaten to make you a gurney occupant with dangerous displays of ***** extender behavior. The week or so before the cruise is as jam packed as the original cruise was and conducted in a more sane environment. The cops tell us that there are more cars on Woodward a week or so before the Cruise than the first two years of the actual cruise. We usually go on the Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday before and have a great time and see some fabulous cars. Frank

Made it out there for a little bit tonight. Saw the RoyalHoax cops kicking a lot of folks out,even tho they were sitting at closed businesses! I for one will NOT be out there next saturday. Too nutty for me. The first 3 or 4 years were the best ones.
Man that was actually fun....Kirk you rolled tight by us..saw Denise out there, lot of nice rides...saw a damn 58 Olds convertible! Royal oak cops kicked us out around 9:50 we went north of 14 and hung out till 11:30 with no h***les. I will say I had a blast! It was like being 16 again and hanging out on Telegraph with my friends. It was how I remembered the first couple of years. If only the cruise could be like that I would be all in!
This week will be pretty good for some of you out of towners...by Thursday the corporations take over many of the best spots with huge displays and by Friday forget about it....but again last night was a blast.
Rolled in yesterday afternoon. Good trip. Ran into stopped traffic on 23N. Noticed I was low on fuel so got off, got 15.4 gal in my 16gal tank and ran into a car show (Heavenly Cruz) at a Catholic Church. Hung out for awhile and met some nice people. Headed back toward my sons house and 23 was back open. Will be helping son with a barn build during the day mixed in with some cruising during the week.
