I make a turn signal controller which cancels with Inertia. I am working on a turn signal column mount for cars which are impractical to mount the momentary switch on the dash.

I have a question I would like some input.

For cars of all types with straight columns, What are your column diameters?

    Is 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 generally standard on most 30's and 40's columns?

I'd check a few manufacturers websites. They usually list the sizes.

I'd sure like to see a pic of what you're manufacturing. If it looks better than the ****py turn signals already on the market, I'd be interested in buying one of yours.

What I have is an inertia based system which cancels the signal when it feels a turn has been made. It does a lot. Look up Cleverturnsignal.com. It uses a 2-position momentary.

On some cars, the dash is close to the wheel. In my Pantera the switch is real close with the dash location. It is on the left here (no the dash is not covered yet):

Cars with longer columns have a harder time with mounting a momentary. It is out of reach. I am coming up with a mount which is made from steel. I actually make this for something else but it lends itself well to making different sizes. If I can pin down a few key sizes I can make them for the older cars too:
