It's easier to pull the engine and ****** together and then break them apart once you get them out of the engine bay. I usually remove the radiator and then cut the metal piece over the radiator support. After I get the engine back in, I weld the piece back in.

The transmission does not have a torque converter, but has a fluid coupling. The fluid coupling is attached to the flywheel with I believe 6 bolts or nuts. If you cannot rotate the engine, the realistic way of removing the engine from the transmission is to drop the crankshaft with it attached to the transmission. This means removing the oil pan, timing cover, connecting rod caps, main caps, oil pump, harmonic balancer, timing chain.

Or you can remove both as a unit and then drop the crank per above.

I would try the Marvel mystery oil down the plug holes and see if this might free up the engine. Then you can rotate the crank and remove the flywheel bolts.

You will have to get the motor to turn to get the 4 bolts off that connect the flex plate to the torus cover. The fluid coupling ***embly doesn't just slide out of the front of the transmission like a torque converter does. It comes out in pieces and they are either bolted or held together with snap rings. Try soaking the cylinders with MMO for several days. If that doesn't free it up then remove the heads and then try to break it free. Also, I don't think you can remove a crankshaft from a V type engine without first removing the piston/rod ***emblies. I've tried on several and never been able too.
