New to HAMB

Discussion in 'New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here!' started by ISME, Aug 10, 2014.

  1. After perusing this site for a while I have decided to join this forum. I don't do much with internet forums but I think I may have some insight to add and questions that may be answered. I am bringing a 1927 model T roadster back from the brink of being a rat rod and may need some help. I am also a Harley mechanic and machinist. I'll see if I can add a few pictures of the roadster. rear qtr.JPG front qtr.JPG lh side low.JPG

    Welcome to the HAMB.

What did you have in mind for the T?

Looks like you scored a nice solid hot rod there, once you undo some of the less than tasteful or well executed work that seems to be so common with the rr crowd.

    Keep us posted!

Welcome, I'd love to see it finished:)

  5. What I have in mind is mostly cleaning up some poor workmanship, ugly welds, make the body seams line up, get rid of the spider webs and stickers, that kind of thing. The basics of this car are very sound. I've already swapped the junk yard 302 oil leak that came with the car for a fairly fresh 1966 289. I will be swapping the C4 for an AOD as soon as I get it rebuilt.

  6. That old style air cleaner is actually a 1940's reproduction Ford hubcap made into an aircleaner I found on E-Bay.

Welcome to the site. Slick ride. How long have you been a Harley Mechanic? What kind of bike do you ride? Cheers!

  8. I've been a Harley mechanic for nearly 20 years. ai heaven't done much with the twin cams, mostly vintage stuff. My current bikes are a 1946 Knucklehead, a 1968 Shovelhead in a softail frame, and a 1998 Road King as a daily rider (when I'm not driving the T). The wife also has a 1997 Dyna. Oh and most of the parts for a 1940's ULH 80 inch flathead.

Awesome man. Would love to see some pictures of the bikes! PM me them if they aren't allowed to go on here. I'm not too sure. Love the old school bikes. I have two Ironheads, the one is a rigid with a 45 springer . Built my own prism tank, she is still a work in progress. Got a 1941 45 motor to assemble and start building soon. Too many projects! haha
