How do you remove the wing window on a 1953 ford victoria? Not the gl***, but the frame from the door.
Your gonna have to remove the window garnish molding,,there are screws that hold the top of the wing in place and the bottom pivot has a spring and a nut that is a bear to access. I am posting a photo of the vent window structure that the stainless vent frame fits,,the arrows are at the attachment points. HRP
good pics HRP years ago I replaced all the "caterpiller fur" in my window rails -- it was a ***** of a job just recently, the spring on my left [driver's side] wind wing musta broke as it won't stay in position -- moves too easily I'm not lookin forward to the job of fixin it -- need to find new rubbers before I take it apart -- so's I kin do it ALL at once
I had a '52 Stude,Land Cruzer, my friend still has his, the vent windows on these have no chrome on the flat, the chrome strip on the the main window is attached and when the window all the way up, the vent rests on the outside the main door gl***..... hope this makes sense, if you can find one in a car show it will make more sense good luck
Hey Danny, I just pulled up your old post and pics of your wing window. Can you tell me the order and placement of the washers and spring that make up the bottom pivot? I lost the pics I took when I took them apart way back when I started this part of my project, so i'm not sure if one of the washers goes inside the bracket, and the other below it, and not sure if raised part of each washer goes up or down.
Thomas,it's probably not the spring but the pivot has broken if the vent window just swings back and forth. HRP
