    hey all,
    new to the board.
i posted a reply to a junkyard pics post and was told to do an intro or i'd get ****. so here it is.

    name: adam
game: working in a factory building doors for mod. homes. getting ink, playing in a band, playing video games *the new warriors game is pretty rad*. and hanging out with my friends on the weekends.
    ride: nothing worth naming.

my old man sell's used cars but i never really got into anything with engines. i did some body work but most of the time we would just say "oh let me do it!" and push me to the way side.
i'd like to learn how to weld and other things involving the major and minor body work that would go into builing a nice rod.
any help or any contacts would be appreciated.
or if anyone wants to bs about cars with me be my guest...i dont know much but i'm willing to learn.

    thanks
    and take care

Buy something that is decent that you can work on and drive. It will give you something to practice on. When you feel you are getting better buy something that you want to build and work on it. You will be learning as you go. It will amaze you what you can do if you just make yourself do it. There are tons of good books about all phases of this stuff get one and read. Dont be afraid to ask someone at a show "how did you do that", most guys are great about talking to some one who clearly wants to learn.

Hey Adam welcome to the board. I'm not to far from you, I live just outside bloomsburg. Good luck finding a ride. Like what was suggested, find something you can work on and drive then work up from that. Where do you get your ink done at? later shawn

Ok,Adam. Welcome to the HAMB. Lots of car stuff in central PA. Take in the summer cruise-ins at the Mickey D's in Milton and Mifflinburg. Go to Carlisle in May just to look at the cars (that's where I bought my A) and parts. Go to York in June-street rod nationals-lots of ideas. Keep reading and leaning-there's lots of knowledge here if you are polite enough to ask.

    Welcome to the HAMB Adam.

Why not just go to your uncles yard and pick out a ride to work on? We were just there last weekend looking over the cars and there are still some salvageable cars left. Pick one you like that he has a few of so you have parts cars. Hook up with JT and build an *** dragging sled I'm sure he could give you a few ideas.

going to JT's tonite was really informative, had a great time.
i got alot of ideas now, but i just have to get them in motion and not get in over my head.
start small i think will be the key. instead of going apesh*t and all haha.

btw, what salvagable cars did you spy while out there.
i just might make a run tommorrow after i finish up some stuff i got going on in the morning.

    thanks guys i appreciate it.
