Hi Rui, I replaced the 'Draft Tube' crankcase ventilation with a more modern and friendly recirculating system which uses a positive control valve, pcv, to keep everything nice and clean. The exhaust is split with 4 cylinders going through the original pipe and 2 cylinders going through a new pipe. Both have 30 inch gl*** pack mufflers. It is way too loud on acceleration but has a beautiful rumble at speed. The dual carbs are Holley one barrels with the gl*** bowl. They make a great visual impact, along with the Offenhauser valve cover and other chrome pieces. It has been lowered 2 inches front and rear, has dummy lake pipes, wide skirts, the Coronado Kit, and custom single bar grill. It employs a Lincoln trunk latch which pops it open with the push of a ****on and then captures the lid and pulls it closed. One feature I really like is the extra chrome trim above the side gl*** like the Crestline sedan has. Since they did not make a Crestline Club Coupe I added it to make one myself. All in all, with a paint and upholstery job it turned out just the way I visualized it when I bought it. I was a 'car crazy' Sophomore in High School when this car was new, and I loved it from the first time I saw one. The one thing I did not want was the automatic transmission, but I live in a highly populated area with heavy traffic and I have learned to like it better. Check out my new taillight lens (from a 63 Falcon).
Here's my humble offering. Anyone going to the Lakewood (Ohio) Car Kulture Show this Sunday, the 17th?
Hey all, been MIA for quite a long time, but met a local guy who owns a 55 Customline 4-door and a nice 56 Customline sedan. The 56 is getting a 351C and a T5, which I've helped him with on some small details. Hopefully this pic works!!!
Two awesome '57 Customs. Do either of these belong to anyone here? Or, does anyone know anything about them. They were posted on the 57fordsforever website, but in either case, the poster didn't know much about them. The green one has the F code factory (?) supercharger, and at least the rear windows are ala business coupe. It was at the leadsleds show in Salinas, Kansas. The 2 toned one was at a Clear Lake,Iowa cruise a few weeks ago and has a late model efi, but that's all the poster knew. Don't know how I posted double images..sorry.
@stacks1938: Sorry, I didnt realize that you had aswered my question. Really cool six. Love the looks on the carb setup. How did you come up with that exhaust manifold? Thanks
Hi Rui, I simply cut the old manifold into two pieces and welded up the ends. Then I welded a Chevy thermostat housing to the short manifold section. My local exhaust guy formed the head pipe and tail pipe for the new side. I appreciate your compliments.
Nice pictures. I'd be happy to post here. At work, they discourage us even being on FB due to the nature of our business.
Here are a couple of pics of my new grill. I did a prototype of this some time ago but recently had a shop make one out of 2 1/4" aluminum tubing. It polished out nicely.
While I was at it I took a few shots of my newly refurbished steering wheel. Since I am trying to make my car look like a Crestline I painted the wheel, turn signal knob, and gearshift knob with Ace Hardware appliance epoxy paint, almond color.
Also, here are a couple of shots of the Lincoln trunk latch I installed. The best feature is how it grabs the trunk lid and gently pulls it closed. The bad feature is how bulky it is. I have a manual release cable hooked up which also allows me to open the trunk from the inside (in case I ever get kidnapped).
Nice job on everything. The steering wheel in particular looks great, as well as the grille. I've already deleted the trunk badge/trim and key, so I've gotta come up with a release of some sort. Haven't decided whether to go electrical or a cable release similar to what you did, but running to the back footwell area just below the seat. Rich
Yep...agreed. I sure wish someone here knew something about it. I'd sure like to know if it's a business sedan (more commonly called a business coupe) from the factory. If it was, and the supercharger was also oem, it would be one of the rarest of Fords. I can't tell in this photo if it has a back seat, which would be another clue, but of course wouldn't mean anything unless it was confirmed by the vin tag. A business sedan has the 70D code, and the engine would be an F code. This pic was taken at the leadsled show in Kansas this year....somebody must know him. Very similar look on the exterior to what mine is, or will be, except for the rear rolled pan, galaxie tailights, and dark tarnished silver paint. <<<<<<<< my avatar Thanks for bringing it back up, HRP

I took the car to a show yesterday and nobody even looked twice at it. THAT is why I love this group.
How many pictures do you want? I have a cache of over 200 from all over the internet! And another 590+ of my car in various stages of tear down.
