I've been an on and off lurker for a long time but (I think) this is my first post. I came across a recent auction listing for what appears to be a very nice 1934 Lincoln K Club Sedan with a 460, C-6, and modern chassis. Here is the listing: http://hollywoodwheelsauction.com/AmeliaIslandAuction/listings.php?make=Lincoln&model=Towncar&id=17
I'd like more info on this car if anyone has it, specifically more details on the build, when was it done, did it sell at this auction, etc. I'd love to talk to the original owner / builder if possible. Thanks for any help you can offer.

  2. There is a 2012 ad out of Cartersville Georgia, that has a reply link on the right in orange after you open it up.....was asking 130 thousand dollars for it then.

Hope it's okay to post here. Good luck.

Thanks KidCampbell71, I saw that ad in my Google search along with a couple of other photos from a car show dated 2007, if so the car is at least 7 years old. I don't have a clue what these kind of things are worth but $130,000 seems ridiculous. If the car is in that ballpark I am outside on the sidewalk...

Technically not restored with 460 and Vintage Air. Here's a '35 sedan for 1/2 that price with original V12.

The word "restored" is misused a lot. My Packard is original and will stay that way, what I like about the Lincoln is that the modded stuff is hidden by a very stock-appearing exterior.

  6. I would think that guy was probably trying to recoup all of the labor that probably went into that car. Thus the bane of any restoration...where work is farmed out...one never gets the equity back unless its his/her own sweat equity. Hard to do, since not all of us are a jack of all trades. Being realistic, and having gone through the process a time or three is also not on everyone's plate either. Most of the individuals reaching, are the usual first time....all the way kinds. Those cars bring big money ALL ORIGINAL, modified, it will only bring what someone will pay. Loose statement there, but there is a good chance it won't be near worth what the original version would have been. I would think at an auction, anything goes....last one to bid gets it, but having said that....who's to say that there is or is not a huge reserve to be met either.. Be fun to go, maybe you can find something else....or hell...maybe you shall be the last man standing. It is a hell of a nice car. Go bid, and grab a beer or four. No telling what the hangover will bring.

Old Cars Price Guide says a 34 Lincoln sedan is a $50,000 - $60,000 car. The engine swap and hot rod job doesn't increase the value, it will ultimately reduce it. So, the seller is dreaming unless he is lucky enough to find a sucker who just won the lottery and can't live without a hot rod 34 Lincoln.

Thanks Kid and Rusty. I was really hoping to connect with someone who had personal knowledge of this car and figured this forum was my best bet. If so, feel free to contact me via PM if you don't want to post...

BTT, I can't believe no one knows anything about this car. Here is another photo to jog your memory, anyone know who built it?
